These assignments serve as organizational tools for ELLs while they are preparing to write the Introduction of their SAT Practice Essay in the SAT Argument Analysis Unit. Learners must read an argumentative article and determine the topic, overall argument, and 3 argumentative techniques used by the author, while providing evidence. These activities allow ELLs of all levels to focus on content and not be overwhelmed with paragraph structure as they prepare to write an argument analysis for the first time.

Learners choose 2 articles of interest and compare and contrast the text features, structures, purpose, central idea, and audience while providing concrete evidence.
