Student Progress
The MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) test is given to students as a way to determine growth in reading. Students typically take the MAP at the beginning, middle, and end of the academic year. These specific reports show RIT Growth, overall RIT Score, Goal Performances, Lexile Range, areas of relative strengths, and areas of possible concerns of a key group of ELLs from my focus class from the beginning of the year (September) to the middle of the year (December). Of the 7 students tested, 6 have met their Projected RIT.
The Reading Inventory is given to students as as way to determine growth in their reading lexile. Students typically take the inventory at the beginning, middle, and end of the academic year, if they are also enrolled in the R180 course. This specific report shows the Lexile growth of a key group of ELLs from my focus class, who are also enrolled in the R180 course, from beginning of the year (September) to middle of the year (February). The expected growth is approximately 75-100 Lexiles per academic year. Of the 13 students tested, 4 have already made expected growth. The average growth is 76 Lexiles.
